There’s beach access, and then there’s direct beach access. To appreciate the difference, step out of Villa Allegria, on to the pristine white sands of one of the world’s finest beaches. “It really is a direct feet-in-sand location, which is very special,” says Sam Hunt of Hamilton Real Estate, a Savills associate. This is Leeward Beach, on the island of Providenciales in the Turks and Caicos archipelago.
Providenciales – or Provo, as the locals call it – is the most populated of the 40 or so islands and cays that make up the Turks and Caicos, ringed with miles of beautiful beaches, clear turquoise waters and unspoilt coral reef. But its beauty lies not only in its spectacular natural assets, but also in the fact that it’s still a low-key and largely undiscovered paradise.
“It has only come to light as a luxury destination in the past few years, due to the villas and resorts the country has to offer – as well as having the world’s best beach,” says Hunt. This is according to numerous awards, including TripAdvisor, which ranked Provo’s Grace Bay first in its top 10 beaches in both 2016 and 2018.
Villa Allegria, a stunning villa located in the exclusive area known as Emerald Point, is the ultimate contemporary beach house: all clean lines and cool simplicity. The ground floor leads directly on to Leeward Beach, while on the first floor, a wall of windows opens on to the infinity pool deck to make the most of the tranquil views and gentle sea breezes. Situated in an exclusive new enclave known as Emerald Point, the villa is surrounded by greenery, giving it a private, secluded feel. “This is beach living at its best.”
