Leisurely living, fast broadband

With the increase in remote working, fast internet at home has become a must-have feature, says Alex Balkin

“We’re living in a time where having fast, reliable internet at home is fundamentally important. This was becoming a trend long before lockdown – the Savills Second Home Survey showed that fast broadband and reliable Wi-Fi was the top priority for people looking for a new property – but it’s certainly been accelerated by the pandemic.

For many of us, remote working, wherever we are in the world, has become mainstream. But in order for this to be possible, you need the bandwidth. Savills Research has ranked the top 50 global prime leisure locations by their average broadband speeds. More than two-thirds of them had speeds that were considered fast enough to work from home.

And of course, the need for fast internet extends well beyond work: it’s an essential part of our everyday lives, from social media to streaming entertainment to keeping in touch with our friends and family.

The way we work now allows for a much more flexible bridge between work and leisure. It’s no longer ‘either/or’, it’s ‘and’ – and fast internet is the key to making that happen. From Monaco to Verbier, we have an exquisite selection of European properties where you can make the most of both.” Alex Balkin

The 330 sq m space occupies an entire floor of the building and has been completely renovated by London-based interior design firm Candy and Candy, using the finest materials for floors, walls and fittings. A private landing makes access totally exclusive, and the apartment comes with a cellar, a large terrace and two parking spaces.
